This '41 Cadillac "Westergard Style" custom is featured in the December 2008 issue of Rod & Custom magazine and has been resurrected by owner Kurt McCormick of Imperial, Mo. CustomChrome Plating was chosen to re-do the chrome on this fantastic looking custom. We thank Kurt for the opportunity to help preserve an important piece of automotive history.


 

 

 

 

 

 

This piece of Hot Rod history was restored by the talented staff at the Hot Rod Garage in Sand Springs, OK. CustomChrome is honored that they chose us to do their polishing and plating. This car recently brought $320,000.00 at the 2008 Barrett-Jackson Auction in Scottsdale, AZ.!

We are pleased to announce that several cars with plating done by CustomChrome Plating in Grafton, OH were chosen to be prominently displayed at the show and 2 of them were Great 8 contestants for the prized Ridler Award.

 

Those 2 were: A 40's era Chevrolet pickup truck done by good friends and great customers Eric and Vivian Lavine at Lavine Restorations in Nappanee IN..

A beautifully restyled '56 Chevrolet Nomad wagon done by the very talented metal wizard Neil Lea of Rods and Restos in Centre,AL..

CustomChrome congratulates both of these builders on their achievements.

The other cars shown here are the spectacular '32 Ford Sedan Delivery built by Dave Lane at Fastlane Rod Shop in Donohue, IA and the black chromed '33 Willys built by the Nosse bros. and Lee Carpenter in Cleveland, OH..

Again, congratulations to these talented people and a big THANK YOU to them for choosing us as their metalfinisher and plater!!

Another Rod & Custom cover car with all the polishing and plating done by CustomChrome.

This '54 Mercury Monterey is owned by Mark and Evonne Morton of San Juan Capistrano, CA. Mark, as you may know, is the driving force behind the reincarnation of Hop Up Magazine.

An interesting feature on this cool custom is that all of the stainless steel trim has been polished, then chromed. It adds a lot to the usual aspect of the car, especially when seen in person.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Another Rod & Custom cover car! This time it’s a ’32 Ford Sedan Delivery built by Dave Lane of Fast Lane Rod Shop in Donohue, IA. For George Poteet. This car is an understated stunner and CustomChrome is proud to be a part of this way cool ride.

 

 

      

 

 

 


 

 

 

1932 Ford Roadster owned by Howard and Sharon Radtke of Lansdale, PA. and built by the Hot Rod Garage, Denton, MD..   Plating by CustomChrome Plating. This cool roadster was featured in Volume #32 of The Rodder’s Journal.

1951 Mercury Coupe. Owned by "Mercury Charlie" Runnels, Austin, TX. Bodywork and paint by Gary Howard, Austin, TX. This beautiful custom was built by Charlie and he chose CustomChrome to do all the polishing and plating, including plating all of the stainless trim. Stunning!! 1936 Ford Coupe. Owned by Bud Ford of West Virginia and built by the guys at Lobeck’s Hot Rod Shop in Cleveland, Ohio. All the plating on this superb Hot Rod was done by CustomChrome.


 

1956 Chevrolet mild custom owned by Pinstriper and artist Dennis McPhail of Wellington, Kansas. Car was featured in the November 2007 Rod & Custom Magazine and displays some of CustomChrome’s dazzling work.

 

 

 

 

 

 

1953 Mercury convertible full custom built and owned by Jim Gilbert of Parkersburg, West Virginia. A beautiful piece showcasing wonderful workmanship overall and a ton of beautiful chrome from CustomChrome. This beauty was also featured in the November 2007 Rod & Custom.

 

 

         

 

 

1957 Oldsmobile Fiesta wagon. The cover car of the December 2007 issue of Rod & Custom Magazine and also awarded Rod & Custom’s Custom of the year! Congratulations to owners Bruce and Judy Ricks of Sapulpa, Oklahoma and the guys at Cimtex Rods in Jarrell, Texas for building a beautiful car. All of the plating, including the stainless steel trim was polished and flawlessly plated at CustomChrome.  

 

 

 

 

 

1958 Ferrari built by David Carte and his crew at Classic and Sport in Edinburg, Virginia. This car was shown at the 2007 Pebble Beach Classic and was awarded the Enzo Ferrari Cup and First in it's class. All Chrome was artfully restored at CustomChrome.

Detroit Autorama- Despite displayed sign, “Not For Judging, Display Only”. The Goldtop earns “The Alexander Brothers Award” for Excellence in Design and Workmanship. Indianapolis GoodGuys Hot Rod Happening- Awarded “Top 10” pick from Rod & Custom Magazine, from over 4500 registered participants/cars. Edsel Ford Estate- invited to participate as one of eight “customs” in an invitation-only event organized by Detroit-area “Big-3” automotive designers, on the estate of Edsel Ford. KKOA Spectacular- From a field of over 650 participants/entries, the Goldtop earns four top awards, Including two Hall of Fame awards and the title of “Grand Champion”. Michigan International Speedway- From field of 1500 entries, the Goldtop wins “Best of Show”.
